Greek tortoises are a protected species. Spur-thighed tortoises, marginated tortoises, and Russian tortoises are also protected. As keepers of these tortoises, we have obligations to uphold these regulations. Since these obligations are often unknown and unclear, I would like to explain them in this video. Every change must be reported to the authorities (death, theft, loss, relocation, sale, etc.). Offspring must be registered, and the necessary paperwork must be applied for at the latest when ownership changes, as well as photo documentation from the very beginning. For your own records, it is recommended to keep notes (behavior, weights, illnesses, veterinary examinations, veterinary findings, egg laying with date and number of eggs, and any periods of concern such as loss of appetite or unusually high activity levels).
