Dolomites in the Ladinian – Part 1: The uniformity breaks | Limestones, dolostones and lavas (EN)

During the Middle Triassic (247–237 million years ago), the geological and biological foundations of the Dolomites were established. Fossils found at various sites, even very distant ones (China), show that an important evolutionary event occurred in marine environments worldwide. At that time, the Dolomites represented a true biological “hot spot.” To illustrate these geological and biological events, the Museum Gherdëina redesigned three display cases in the geological and paleontological section.
