Top RC Focke-Wulf Fw190 Review 402mm wingspan

Just out the Focke-Wulf Fw190 one of three in this 402mm series. The other are Thunderbolt and Airacobra. These are made by TopRC but parts seems compatible with the Volantex/SonikRC models too. Other models that those manufacturers make in 400mm are Spitfire, Bf109, Mustang, Corsair, Zero, Warhawk, Trojan. This uses a brushed motor and LiPo battery (1s 400mAh). The rear tailplane was a little twisted on mine but it flies ok. One landing damaged the elevator servo horn and curtailed my flying for the day. I went home and glued it. I would say the plane needs a bit more throttle than most, and it did twitch in the roll axis a couple of times even though winds were very light (under 3mph). On the plus side it captures the lines pretty well (although as usual the main wing is rearwards) with the canopy shape and large frontal area caused by the radial engine it had fitted. This particular model comes with undercart detail, AA batteries, and a little screw to hold the compartment door. Apart from that very similar to most, although the Zero does have a clear cockpit/pilot, and that makes it unique so far (May 2023). Overall a great addition to my squadron. Red 19 was flown by Ernst Schroder. When the FW190 came out in 1941 against the Spitfire Mk5 it surpassed it in most respects other than turns. We had to wait for the Mk9 Spitfire to surpass it again. See later videos for crashes, upgrades and more on this plane. Music from YouTube. Internet search 'Calvertfilm'.
