It is an affordable roll roof (low top) conversion. I think there are many American car fans looking for a model like this. It is a model where supply cannot keep up with demand. Of course, the size is what it is, and there isn't a huge demand for it (laughs). In Japan today, when you think of a "family car," you think of a 2-liter minivan or a tall light van. I know this well because I have small children myself, but for families with children from nursery school to elementary school, minivan-type models are the most convenient. They're easy to get people in and can carry luggage. The moderate height and sliding doors on both sides are also convenient. For families that can only own one car, it's difficult to convert that vehicle into a coupe or sedan. Recently, SUV-type models have been popular, but when you think about carrying a slightly older child and putting them in a child seat, a high-height SUV cannot beat a van-type model. You can even load as much luggage as you want. It is equipped with a torqueful large-displacement V8 engine, making long-distance travel easy. It is also very heavy and stable, so neither the driver nor the passengers in the back seat get tired or stressed. And above all, if you are involved in an accident, there is a high probability that the passengers will survive. For example, what if you are stopped at the back of a traffic jam and a truck driver who is not paying attention hits you? In such an unfortunate accident, the final factor is the body size. If you prioritize the life of your child, who is more important than your own life, I believe that the most important thing to consider in terms of performance required for a family car is safety, and that the absolute body size is what guarantees safety. From that perspective, the full-size Express, which easily exceeds 5m in length, has a width of 2m and weighs easily over 2 tons, is one of the strongest passenger vans. As mentioned above, it is more than practical. The only drawbacks of a full-size van are that my wife doesn't like changing drivers, I have to be a little careful about where I park, the fuel economy is not so good, and the car tax is high, so the running costs are a little high (lol). But, as they say, more is better, and if it means keeping my children safe, all of these are minor issues.
