Overflying Malmö Sturup Airport - 21st May 2016
Just a short video of a small Swedish airport with big plans when it was built back in 1972. The runway is facing the wrong direction since it is facing North - South (runways 17 / 35) and most often the winds blow from the west, so there is almost always cross wind. The plan was to build this runway first and a second runway later, but then came the oil crisis, loss of traffic and other problems, so the East - West runway was never built. There is a short runway (11 / 29) but that was built for general aviation, the est - west runway was planned to be at the other end of 17 / 35, the northern part. I guess it is history now and it will never happen.
