The Song of Burying Flowers 葬花吟

A live performance by UKCM in Gala Concert - part of the concert series in 2024 London International Chinese Music Festival. "The Song of Burying Flowers" is a traditional Chinese orchestral suite based on the classic novel "Dream of the Red Chamber." This piece depicts the "Mourning the Flowers" scene from the novel, capturing the deep affection and sorrow of the characters Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu through its melodic and delicate arrangement. Featuring traditional Chinese instruments like the pipa, erhu, guzheng, ruan, and dizi, the music reflects the rich style of classical Chinese music and conveys profound emotions and cultural significance.
