I got to bring my classical-meets-modern style together with the incredible legacy of Howard’s Showtime Marching Band and Concert Chorale. What made it even more powerful was connecting with students who reminded me so much of myself, who don’t fit into a box. Engineers, filmmakers, classical musicians—all celebrating being Black in their own way. This version of Handel’s Hallelujah isn’t just a remix—it’s a statement. This is what happens when classical meets culture. We’re not just performing—we’re shifting the narrative with energy, with joy, and without apology.
