PEAVEY VALVEKING 100 head I/II SHOOTOUT

Could have used a video like this when I was shopping around. So here is my take... VK1 = Though it has a very full clean, it breaks up too soon. Distortion is a little better than VK2 at higher gains. I don't use a lot of reverb at all but it seems like the reverb is a little better too. VK2 = Connectivity is great. Clean is great. Distortion is very crunchy and articulate from 2-3.5 gain then it gets too hairy and too static sounding once you pass 4 then it almost gets overly bassy/muddy s you increase the gain from there. I think the reverb is digital (not sure) but it doesn't sound as good as VK1. Overall, I prefer the VK2 for its clean, connection options, and left-right controls. VK1 distortion is better at high gain and reverb but clean breaks up too early. If you're into metal and high gain distortion playing then VK1 wins. I like the classic rock to 90's alternative rock/hard rock sound so I don't need as much gain. If I do need more gain, the clean is awesome and takes in all the pedals I feed it. Both solid amps. VK2 is a little beefier in size but only a pound heavier. I prefer the look of the VK1 but the right-left controls are really confusing.
