"Chashme Buddoor" (1981) is a romantic comedy directed by Sai Paranjpye. The story revolves around three close friends and roommates—Siddharth, Omi, and Jai—who are studying at Delhi University. Siddharth is a studious and shy boy, while Omi and Jai are womanizers. They all fall for a new girl in the neighborhood, Neha. Omi and Jai try to impress Neha but fail miserably. Siddharth, however, succeeds in winning her over. When Omi and Jai discover Siddharth and Neha's relationship, they decide to plot against them to seek revenge for their own failed attempts.
