Ghost of Christmas Present's darker side
These clips are from one of the best versions of "A Christmas Carol" ever produced, starring George C. Scott as Scrooge. I really like this film's portrayal of the Ghost of Christmas Present; it retains the usual joviality but also doesn't shy away from the spirit's less obvious, edgier side. He seems to take a certain glee in rebuking Scrooge with his own words, challenges his sense of self-worth, and mocks him for not having the stomach to witness Ignorance and Want. Because they do not shy away from the less "jolly" aspects of Christmas Present, these scenes are two of the most powerful in the entire film.
