Fam al Hut Timepiece with Bi-Axial Tourbillon and Jumping Hour

Fam al Hut, a nascent Chinese watch brand, showcased their latest timepiece at Time to Watches Geneva 2025. The watch draws inspiration from a prominent star in Arabic astronomy, symbolizing brilliance and dominance in the night sky. The timepiece features a dual-part design. The upper section houses a bi-axial tourbillon mechanism with two rotating structures: a larger triangular component completing a full rotation every 150 seconds and a smaller one rotating every 60 seconds. Adjacent to these, the left side displays the hour hand, while the right side presents the minute hand. Notably, the watch incorporates a jumping hour mechanism, providing a distinctive time display. Deviating from conventional colored gemstones, Fam al Hut employs colorless gems to harmonize with the watch's overall aesthetic. The case back reveals a design resembling the number eight, a symbol of luck and positive energy in Chinese culture. This shape also mirrors the mathematical symbol for infinity, suggesting boundless possibilities. Crafted entirely in China, each watch requires between 200 and 300 hours of meticulous handcrafting, limiting annual production to approximately 70 pieces. The movement is constructed from brass, with both yellow and white variations, and future models may offer additional color options. Fam al Hut is currently accepting pre-orders for this model, priced at $32,000 excluding taxes. Due to high demand, the earliest availability is projected for the first quarter of 2027. The brand operates out of Chongqing, located in southern China. Founded by two individuals with international experience—one having worked in Switzerland and the other having studied in Italy, Fam al Hut aims to represent the pinnacle of Chinese watchmaking. Their passion for horology drives their commitment to producing exceptional timepieces that showcase China's capabilities in the watch industry.
