Day 3 of the San Junípero Serra Trail in Querétaro, one of the most demanding hiking and pilgrimage routes in the Sierra Gorda region of Querétaro. On this third day, the trek along the San Junípero Serra Trail continues from Purísima de Arista to Jalpan de Serra, following ancient royal roads, trails, and mountain paths in an environment where accumulated fatigue begins to dictate the day's pace. This is the water route. The San Junípero Serra Trail is a pilgrimage and religious-cultural tourism route located primarily in the state of Querétaro, Mexico. It was inaugurated in 2019 and inspired by the life and work of San Junípero Serra, an 18th-century Franciscan friar who founded missions in the Sierra Gorda region. It is not a single trail, but rather a network of different paths that connect municipalities, communities, and natural landscapes of the state. In this video, I document Day 3 of the Camino de San Junípero, continuing from the previous stage (Conca – Purísima de Arista). This day's journey leads to Jalpan de Serra, one of the most significant points on the route, involving long hours of walking over uneven terrain, constant changes in elevation, and sections where physical exertion becomes paramount. After several days of hiking, the exhaustion is no longer just physical, but mental as well.
