If It Doesn’t Disappear… You’re Dead!

The Floor Above Demo Gameplay + Review: Floor Above is one of the most creative horror demos I’ve played in a while. The game takes a simple anomaly-spotting concept and adds a unique psychological twist: if you blink and the anomaly disappears, it was only a hallucination. If it stays, it’s real. Your only choices are pressing green or red, but the tension the game creates with such limited mechanics is surprisingly intense. Some anomalies are subtle and easy to miss, while others are genuinely terrifying and caught me completely off guard. The atmosphere, sound design, and jumpscares kept me constantly second-guessing what I was seeing. Each correct answer moves you to the next floor, and by the later floors the pressure becomes genuinely stressful in the best way possible. What impressed me most is how polished and memorable the demo already feels. Even better, beating the demo unlocks an additional game mode, which is something you rarely see in demos today. Floor Above manages to turn a very simple gameplay loop into a tense psychological horror experience that feels fresh, creative, and honestly deserves more attention.
