Hail Caesar Battle Report: Early Imperial Romans ~350 points
In this video we bring you a Hail Caesar battle report seeing a civil war of Early Imperial Romans (EIR) taking on Early Imperial Romans and with both sides allied & auxiliary troops. The armies are a little under 350 points each, with each army being 2 Divisions, and led by a separate General. The mission played was Scenario 2: Approach Battle The video style is what I'd call a 'banter battle report'... as I find this a little more entertaining to view / listen too... and we kept in the dice rolls for command and movements as this is a key part of the game showing how forces are moved around the table. We thoroughly enjoyed the game, being a relatively fast play, no 'faffing about' style of game. This was our first go at the rules of the 2nd Edition book and we did make some errors, which I've commented on in video where possible. No doubt we may have made others too! I did make a rather crucial error in use of the separate Army Generals and his commands, I was getting confused with how they work in Warmaster. Although in the end we quite enjoyed this and kept going with it. Afterall amongst friends the game is up to you to modify as you see fit. The figures presented are a mix of brands from Warlord Games, Foundry Miniatures, Wargames factory etc. The Roman Villa was a scratch build by Ste Haran from foamcore and Laser cut roof tile sheet and plastic roof tile sheets. The small dice holders for casualty trackers are 3D print from a file I designed. The Hail Caesar game is available from Warlord Games and your Friendly Local Game Store!
