BOSS VO-1 Fauxcoder FM Synthesis (SYB-5, NO MIC)

You don't have to use a microphone with the Boss VO-1 Vocoder! Much like FM Synthesis, my guitar is modulated by a Boss SYB-5 Bass Synthesizer plugged into the MIC input. Now the character of a monophonic bass synth is shaping my polyphonic guitar chords! The MIC input isn't expecting a polyphonic synth, so it produces a rich, glitchy stutter effect that is always in key. You don't need a distortion pedal before the VO-1 or anything else, so I prefer it over the EHX Iron Lung, which often requires you to add harmonic content.
