How I Mapped My World (With a Disappearing Continent)
I'm using this map to hide secrets and reveal them slowly to my players using the special ink pens from the Shop of Many Things - the Elemental Ink pens, which disappear and reappear with temperature activation, and the Moon Light pens for invisible ink. As I've said throughout this video and in the previous tutorials, you can use the links below to get a 100% discount off these pens (yes, that's right, it's FREE), so that you only pay shipping. And, what's more I'm so happy to be affiliated with the Shop of Many Things, so that you can support me by supporting them! _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Create a Mercator-style world map with a twist in What to Do When Mapping Your World! In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to design a world map while incorporating hidden elements for your campaigns. Using both the Moon Light and Elemental Ink Pens, we’ll hide details like ley lines and whole continents, turning your map into an amazing storytelling tool. Each pen comes with a UV light on the back for ease of use, and they are great for adding hidden clues, map reveals, secret messages, and more! The UV ink does have a slight sheen in bright direct sunlight, and it's important to have a light touch on the paper if you don't want to leave the impression of the pen tip, but under normal artificial light or candlelight, it is completely invisible. Elemental Ink Pens (temperature-activated ink) | REVEAL YOUR SECRETS Use heat to make the ink disappear and cold to make the ink reappear, and you can combine with regular ink to create interesting puzzles and reveals. They work on pretty much any surface. It won’t light your paper on fire unless you keep the flame on the same spot for a long time. The Elemental Ink disappears at 104°F (40°C) whereas normal paper lights at 451°F (233°C). Direct flame works well but also a hot lightbulb, a hot mug of just boiled water or even an iron work too. As for reappearing, freezer cold works well but dry ice or other arrangements work too if you want to take it to the next level! LINK: https://www.theshopofmanythings.com/d...
