Openbite treatment using extraction or Mini Implants. Totally different outcomes

When considering the corrction of an anterio openbite, the use of mini implants to intrude overerupted molars should be considered . By intruding the maxillary posterior segments, you can get significant clockwise rotation of the mandible, correcting the vertical dimension ( openbite) and contributing to the establishement of a Class I occlusion. We created a simple simulation that uses an arbitrary hinge axis and some simple dental simulation to show how important the position of the molars is in the establishment of an esthetic result.
