Throughout all the turmoil in my life over the past 16 years, I've never parted with this car. I've kept it despite divorce, four moves, and sometimes tight budgets. And now it's being rebuilt, and you're invited to join me. Bringing a combustion engine back to life after a long period of inactivity. We're doing it the old-school way; here's a checklist to avoid damage. Simply turning the key is not a good idea. Does the engine turn over by hand? Check the oil level. Is there oil pressure? Change the oil and filter. It should have had new oil when it was stored. Is the valve clearance correct? Spark? Ignition timing, dwell angle? (See separate video.) Carburetor, fuel supply. Coolant. New battery.
