How Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh was pardoned by President of India?

In This video Ritesh Lakhi traces back the legal and political struggle leading to the remission and commutation of sentence to Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh, the then Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Faced with a rather precarious situation where Bhai Ranjit Singh, the sitting Head of Akal Takht faced imminent scenario of incarceration having been out and heading the highest seat of Sikh faith, the Akal Takht Sahib, the various power centres involved in the situation were in a fix to defend the Jathedar. However, the exact reason for the pardon came in the Delhi High Court judgement which had actually indicted Bhai Ranjit Singh as HC observed it to be a right case for reformation and hence remission if Bhai Jathedar conducted himself well enough in shunning divisive ideologies and path. Coupled with good conduct during his incarceration for over 12 years and good conduct outside during his bail period, Jathedar Ranjit Singh's was an apt case to be remitted and this remission came by the President of India in 1998
