Instagram :  / lovinglynie   Facebook :   / lovinglyhandmade   Email: [email protected] Pattern ------------- Mermaid tail (6-12 months ) - chunky yarn Yarn : chunky yarn / # 5 weight yarn estimated yarn need for this project = 8oz +- / 250gm +- Hook : 5.00mm / US 5 Measurements : 20 inches / 51 cm (tail), 29.5 inches / 75 cm (including fin) 22 inches / 56 cm (circumference) Make magic loop/ring Round 1 : chain 2, 12 dc. Slip sts and pull tail to close hole in the middle Round 2 : chain 2, make 2 dc in every sts. Slip sts (24 sts) Round 3 : chain 1, * 2 dc, 2 dc next sts * (8x). Slip sts (32 sts) Round 4 : chain 1, * 3 dc, 2 dc next sts * (8x). Slip sts (40 sts) Round 5 : * chain 1 (count as sc), skip 1 sts, shell sts (3 dc in same sts), skip 1 sts * , repeat *to * until you made 10 shell sts. After you made 10 shell, you should have 1 sts left. Slip sts in chain 1. Round 6 : slip 1 sts forward. Make 1 sc in following sts and place sm to mark beginning of the round. Now make shell sts (3dc in same sts) in sc sts from previous round and sc on shell sts from previous round. Repeat until you made 10 shell sts. Slip sts in sc from beginning of the round. Round 7-11 : repeat round 6 Round 12 : repeat round 6 but make 4dc shell sts in stead of 3 dc sts. Round 13 -33 or until you reach 19 inches in length : start every round with slip 2 sts forward and 1 sc on 3rd dc shell sts. Continue making shell and single crochet sts pattern. Round 34 & 35 : chain 1, make 1 hdc in every sts. Slip sts Fin (make 2 pieces) —— All stitches crochet in back loop except the last sts, this is to show the ribbing texture on the fin. Chain 10 Row 1 : 8 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook) Row 2 : chain 5, 11 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook) - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 3 : chain 1, turn work, 11 hdc - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 4 : chain 5, 14 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook)- crochet in back loop except last sts Row 5 : chain 1, turn work, 14 hdc - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 6 : chain 5, 17 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook) - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 7 : chain 1, turn work, 17 hdc - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 8 : chain 5, 20 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook) - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 9 : chain 1, turn work, 20 hdc - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 10 : chain 5, 23 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook) - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 11 : chain 1, turn work, 23 hdc - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 12 : chain 5, 26 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook) - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 13 : chain 1, turn work, 26 hdc - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 14 : chain 5, 29 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook) - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 15 : chain 1, turn work, 29 hdc - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 16 : chain 5, 32 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook) - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 17 : chain 1, turn work, 32 hdc - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 18 : chain 5, 35 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook) - crochet in back loop except last sts Row 19 : chain 1, turn work, 35 hdc - crochet in back loop except last sts Sew both fin together and sew to the tail. Make sure center on the fin align center of the tail. Fold the fin as you sew to the tail to create ruffle/wave.
