Preaching As An Associate | The Pulpit Podcast

A lot of aspiring preachers are frustrated because they aren't getting enough opportunities to preach. They know they have a call on their life, they have a message in their heart, and they're eager to share it. Let's do the math. There are 52 Sundays in a year. Most pastors will preach at least 40 of those Sundays. Out of the remaining 12, several are often dedicated to special occasions like Women's Day, Men's Day, Youth Day, Pastor's Anniversary, and Church Anniversary. Now we're down to about 7 Sundays that may be available for associate ministers and guest speakers. So the question becomes: Is the issue a lack of opportunity, or unrealistic expectations about the opportunities that actually exist? In this episode of The Pulpit Podcast, we're having an honest conversation about calling, patience, preparation, stewardship, and what ministry looks like when you're waiting for your next opportunity to stand behind the sacred desk. Let's talk about it.
