We study the Lixiang engine design. Of all the various engines available for Lixiang hybrids, one of the most unsuccessful was chosen for some reason – the Prince turbocharged four-cylinder engine developed by PSA and BMW. And it was even "refined" by Chinese engineers. Most importantly, a more demanding Morse plate chain, which is half as thin, was used instead of a roller chain. It's no surprise that Chinese chains often stretch after just 100,000 km, and subsequently are highly likely to break.
