No Shame in Turning Around | Hiking in Norway
Join us on a hike in Osterøy, near Bergen, Norway, as we set out for a mountain summit with spectacular views over fjords and valleys. The trail starts beautifully, with wooden walkways, Sherpa stone stairs and a very nice mountain path. As we gain elevation and the views begin to open up, the weather suddenly changes. Strong winds, rain and thick fog make the conditions increasingly challenging. We continue for a while, hoping to reach the summit, but eventually decide to turn around. In the mountains, knowing when to head back is just as important as reaching the top. There is no shame in turning around when conditions become unsafe. Sometimes the journey itself is the reward. 00:00 Intro and start of the hike 01:13 Hiking on sherpa stairs 03:12 Looking towards the summit 04:49 Tea break with a view 07:39 Views towards the other side - getting close to the top 09:22 Weather is starting to get rough 11:29 Decision to turn around I try to spend every free moment exploring the outdoors.
