Hawai'i men's volleyball championship trophy tour is underway

The University of Hawaiʻi Athletics Department is taking the NCAA men’s volleyball national championship trophy across campus as part of a statewide thank-you tour recognizing fans, students, faculty and staff for their support throughout the title-winning season. The Rainbow Warriors secured the program’s third NCAA championship on May 11 with a victory over UC Irvine, marking the team’s third national title in the past six seasons. The tour, titled “Our Team, Hawaiʻi’s Team Trophy Tour,” is designed to give the UH community an opportunity to celebrate the Rainbow Warriors’ historic season while showing appreciation for the support received during the championship run. The next stop on the tour will be the UH Manoa Bookstore on Friday at 2:30pm. The Athletics Department said visits to University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu and Oʻahu community college campuses are currently being planned. Additional stops on Hawaiʻi Island, Kauaʻi and Maui are also expected later this year as the department continues the statewide celebration of the national championship season.
