Unterwegs mit der Mannheimer Müllabfuhr: Müllwerker Patrick kennt seine "Pappenheimer"

Patrick Antes carries one trash can on his back and pulls a second one up the basement stairs behind him with his other arm. With momentum, he pulls both onto the street so that they roll toward the garbage truck on their own and stop just in front of it. And then he's disappeared down the next stairwell. Patrick is a garbage collector for the Mannheim City Service (Stadtraumservice Mannheim). Every move is perfect; the 44-year-old knows every basement or backyard on his route and its corresponding trash can. And he also knows "his people," as he says. One of these cases isn't long in coming. This is part four of our video series "Mannheim's Heroes." In this series, we introduce you to the people in uniform.
