Gnosticizing Scripture: Finding Deeper and more "Spiritual Meaning" In Scripture

What happens when one decides to find a deeper, more spiritual meaning behind a given text, not only a meaning that is profound but specifically unique to your circumstances? Well, you gnosticize that mug. Look, I believe God still speaks today outside of scripture. I don't think that it is impossible or even unlikely that God would speak to you as you read the Bible. However, there has been this novel form of preaching and Bible reading that has been circulating In the charismatic movement that looks a great deal like Gnosticism, and this kind of reading Is really hurting people. We have no plans of bride bashing or bullying people who preach differently than we do. but we do hope to bring up some serious concerns and we hope that it can help those who are not even aware of the dangers.
