We overcame anxiety and tension at 4800 meters altitude to cross the Jama Pass, facing its closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In the electrifying penultimate episode of the series, we left San Pedro de Atacama, crossed the Andes Mountains in -8 degree weather, explored extraordinary roads and landscapes, crossed mud rivers that overlaid the highway, and after passing through Salta, Cafayate, and Tafí del Valle, arrived at Termas de Rio Hondo. Get ready for the twists and turns of the longest episode of the series so far! ----------- ATACAMA EXPEDITION Series In this documentary web series, I portray the motorcycle expedition that took place between March 2nd and 18th, 2022, to the Atacama Desert, departing from the interior of the state of São Paulo in Brazil, crossing Argentina, and reaching Chile. For 17 days, traveling 8560km, we explored this unique region of the world with mountains, deserts, challenging roads, extreme temperatures, and high altitude. The Andes mountain range is spectacular! The destination is truly fantastic. But the journey is just as important as the destination. We lived experiences impossible to explain in words.
