Welding Cast Boat Exhaust Manifold Crack
Welding Cast Inboard Outboard Exhaust Manifold Crack Repair with 3/32” 7018 low hydrogen stick weld rod. Have all of your tools, weld rod, welding hood, etc all set out and ready for this process, once you start you do not want to stop until the part is ready to cool in the insulation. Find the ends of the crack with heat, drill each end of the crack to prevent further cracking, grind the crack to a v bevel, preheat, weld keeping heat on as much as possible in the piece, after welding is complete, go right into a post heat to relieve some of the stress incorporated in the welding process, a quick inspection, and then the part needs to go directly into the insulation.
