Elements, Beads & Terra

Eryn and I recently put together a live rig to perform a one-hour ambient set at Kult Yard. To test out his new Insta360 camera, we set up the system and recorded a few live improvisations. This specific jam is built around Eryn's Terra patch and a drum loop programmed in Ableton Live. The various drum layers are modulated with LFOs, providing a constantly evolving rhythmic foundation. On the modular side: It kicks off with a bowed, string-like patch from Mutable Instruments Elements, which eventually evolves into the bassline. Later, a plucked string-like sound from Beads (utilizing it as a pseudo-polyphonic wavetable synth) enters the mix. All audio was processed in Ableton in real-time, and the master mix was recorded directly into the camera with zero post-editing. What you hear is exactly how it sounded in the room!
