I Unlocked a Used Metro by T-Mobile Phone for Free (Without a Metro Account)

You just bought a used phone, but it's locked to a carrier that you don't use. What can you do to unlock the phone to use with your carrier? I bought a used Samsung Galaxy phone that was locked to Metro by T-Mobile to figure this out. If you have been struggling with unlocking your device (particularly a device you bought used) I think this video can help you out. I go over issues like: buying a used locked device and not having an account with the original carrier, the cost and concerns with using an online unlock service, and the thrilling conclusion where I do in fact unlock the device from Metro by T-Mobile. A few tips for unlocking: Start with the original carrier's customer service department, if that fails--check out some unlock services online or from local smartphone repair shops, and if that fails . . . try reaching out to customer service through different means: chat functionality through their website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc., find a good number to call them that will get you to an actual customer service rep and not an automated system.
