Part 3: Capturing Magic: Bringing a Wearable Art Piece to Life | Documentary Part 3
Originally filmed and completed for TELUS Optik TV On Demand across Western Canada in 2021, Capturing Magic follows the creation of one of my wearable art pieces from its earliest sketches to its final reveal. In the concluding chapter of the documentary, I share the meaning behind the story, the dream that inspired the artwork, and how those ideas shaped every stage of its creation. The finished wearable art is revealed through photography, accompanied by the film's final animation sequence and an original poem that brings the journey to a close. For me, wearable art has never been about creating costumes alone. Every piece begins with a story, dream, poem, or character before finding its way into leather, metal, photography, film, and now writing. All music in this documentary was composed by my husband, Tanner. Note: This documentary was originally completed in 2021. While preparing it for this archival release, several original files had become corrupted over time. Those damaged sections have been carefully removed to preserve the film, so you may notice a few abrupt transitions.
