Hello! As I promised, on Saturday I went to the forests of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. This time I took my largest basket with me, because my gut told me it might come in handy. Honestly, for the first few moments I started to wonder if I hadn't overdone it with its size... The beginning of the trip was quite uneventful. The boletus mushrooms appeared singly, hidden in the soft moss, so the basket filled very slowly. I decided to change tactics and moved to a forest dominated by oaks with a mixture of pine, fir, and birch. It was a bull's-eye! There were definitely more mushrooms, and in many places they grew in entire groups – several, even a dozen or so. Unfortunately, not everything was perfect. About half of the boletus I found were worm-eaten, so many had to be left in the forest. Such is the charm of summer mushroom picking. Fortunately, returning to the fir forests brought another pleasant surprise. While the boletus mushrooms were less abundant there, they were much healthier and in excellent condition. When I finished the first part of my trip and looked into the basket, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was already about halfway filled with beautiful, healthy boletus mushrooms! 😍 And that's only halfway through my mushroom picking... What happened next?
