Black and White Photography | "Jack Davison" | Featured Artist
Jack Davison is a self-taught photographer from Essex, London. His work blends cinematic surrealism with gritty shadows, harsh contrast and mystery. Davison's work covers a wide spectrum, from a clenched fist, a dog suspended in the air, or raw portraits of many celebrities. Since the age of 15 he has continuously photographed those around him, much to the annoyance of family, friends and strangers. In the process Davison has developed a distinctive style of his own - almost painterly in quality, and with a deep current of surrealism running through it. With deft use of light and shadow, his images are rich in tension and drama, paying tribute to vernacular photography as much as to the work of early modernist image-makers. A single photograph of Davison’s can obscure and reveal something of its subject at the same time. ▪️https://www.jackdavison.co.uk/ ▪️ / jackdavisonphoto ➕ Gain full access to my exclusive curated BWP Photographer Database to enhance your creative journey!
