Driving Around Small Town Meredosia, Illinois in 4k Video

Filmed on Friday, August 4 2023, I drive around the village Meredosia, IL to see what's going on. In 2011, in order to meet Illinois enviornmental regulations, Ameren Energy closed their Meredosia Power Plant, resulting a loss of more than 50 jobs for citizens of Meredosia. In 2018, the State of Illinois constructed a new bridge over the Illinois River, replacing the old bridge which was constructed in 1936 and was too narrow for modern traffic. As of the census of 2020, there were 826 people residing in the village, down from 1,044 in 2010. The racial makeup of the village was 99.90% White, and 0.10% Hispanic or Latino. #driving #drivingtour #travel
