Dispersion of Light Through a Prism | CBSE Class 10 Science | CBSE | NCERT | AASOKA AASOKA presents a video where you will learn about the dispersion of light. Newton proved that white light is made up of 7 colors namely VIBGYOR. He proved it by using a glass prism. These colors are often observed as light passes through a triangular prism. Upon passage through the glass prism, the white light is separated into its component colors - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. The separation of visible light into its different colors is known as dispersion. 1. The white light consists of seven colours, namely, violet, indigo, blue, green yellow, orange, and red (VIBGYOR). 2. The phenomenon of splitting white light into its constituent colours through a prism is known as the dispersion of light, and the band of constituent colours is known as a spectrum. 3. The formation of a rainbow and a beautiful band of colours observed in water fountains, soap bubbles, CDs, etc. are all due to the dispersion of light. AASOKA provides 2D/3D educational videos based on the CBSE curriculum that will help you understand difficult concepts and complicated experiments in a simple, easy-to-understand way.
