Isuzu may very well be a Japanese company but with nearly 50 years producing vehicles in South Africa, its fair to say their roots are firmly entrenched in Africa! So how then does an Icelandic company cross paths with a Japanese company cross paths to produce a very special pickup for the South Africa market? Well thats precisely the story we wanted to tell... Shot as a 3 part TV Special for broadcast on Ignition - a channel based in South Africa but broadcast in 8 other African countries. Part 1 sees us chatting with Arctic Truck International CEO, Patrik von Sydow, to understand the pioneering story of their brand, while Dominic Rimmer paints the picture of Isuzu and its South African heritage and crucially, how these two companies embarked on a new adventure for both - producing an Arctic Truck version of the Isuzu D-Max on a mainstream production line.
