108: Woolaston Common and Alvington (Forest of Dean District 2018)
FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT WALK FEATURING WOOLASTON COMMON AND ALVINGTON "Woolaston Common and Alvington” Filmed 17th July 2018 Post-production completed 13th January 2019 Up to now I have made a film in every town and village I have lived in. The most important village is perhaps Alvington in Gloucestershire, first seen in my 1999 film “Sentiments of Severnside”, as it is the very first place in which I ever lived. For the 25th anniversary it seemed only right to return to Alvington to make a new film featuring a walk in that area, so I present “Woolaston Common and Alvington”. The walk featured in this film takes place mainly in the region of the Forest of Dean around Woolaston, which was great to shoot as, surprisingly, I have never done any walks in this area before. I explored much of it on my bicycle many years ago, but never on foot. Filmed in the Forest of Dean in the county of Gloucestershire. Locations include Woolaston, High Woolaston, Park Hill Common, Woolaston Slade, Woolaston Woodside, Woolaston Common and Alvington. This is part of the series of films shot in 2018 celebrating 25 years of “The Solitary Rambler”. Written, researched, directed, camera and sound, edited and music by Patrick Leach. "The Solitary Rambler" is my series of amateur films of my journeys in the countryside accompanied by my own musical scores, which I compose and perform on my Yamaha keyboard. Please note that, as with all the films I make, this is not actually intended to be an extensive guide to the area. This is a mini-movie of my personal journey along the walk, in which I often share some of my own personal stories. If you are new to my YouTube channel, I strongly recommend reading the description on the home page, which will provide a clearer understanding of what to expect in my films: / solitaryrambler There is also a short “Introduction to the Solitary Rambler” video, which briefly explains what my films are all about: / solitaryrambler DISCLAIMER: Although I work hard to ensure all information is correct to the best of my knowledge, I am only featuring information I have found online and/or in books during my research when putting this film together, so I cannot guarantee that there are no mistakes or errors.
