This model is the SX trim which is the top of the line. Kia has gone nice and aggressive on the exterior with the black fascia trim, the integrated fog lights, large rims, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser with dual exhaust tips. Overall the Forte Koup is a good looking car. Base price is $17,400 with the SX model tested here starting at $19,800. There are 2 different engine choices available on the 2013 Kia Forte Koup. The first is a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder capable of producing 156 horsepower and 144 lb-ft. of torque with fuel economy ratings at 25 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. The second engine is a larger more powerful motor: the 2.4 liter puts out 173 horsepower and 168 lb-ft. of torque while averaging 23 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. Both engines can be paired with either a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. On the inside the Forte Koup has one of the class leading cabins. There is a touch-screen navigation system with satellite radio, Bluetooth, Voice Guidance, and more. The Forte also gets nice heated seats. This makes the value proposition hard to pass up since you are getting so many features for the price. The 2013 Kia Forte Koup is a fun car to drive. The car handles well thanks to the GoodYear tires at all 4 corners. The paddle shifters (only available on the SX model) add to the driving enjoyment. You will be hard pressed to find an affordable coupe from any of the automobile manufacturers that is not a good car.
