THQ's collapse is the story of a company caught in the crossroads of a recession, a new console generation, and an industry shakeup - all hitting at the peak of its business. It's the story of a company with two warring internal divisions, with a CEO that refused to break up the fights or make the hard decisions.. Unlike so many other game studios during this era, however...THQ should have made it out alive, and it almost did. It had a strategy in place should the licensed game well start to dry up, and it even executed on that plan; it just didn't fully commit.
