First Taste Of Puppy Mush / Sky Of Roses

Our beautiful Sky of Roses litter of multi-generational Australian Labradoodles is now four weeks old, which means they are reaching some very exciting developmental milestones! Their tiny teeth buds are beginning to come in, their activity levels are increasing, curiosity is growing, they are showing us stronger signs that they are ready to experience their very first taste of solid food. Before the puppies are introduced to puppy mush, they spend time enjoying playful adventures, exploration, confidence-building in our sensory play area, which is carefully set up according to their developmental stage at four weeks old. As the puppies continue to grow, you will notice us gradually expanding and changing their sensory area to include new textures, sounds, surfaces, obstacles, toys that positively challenge their senses. Our goal throughout these early weeks is to help create positive desensitization experiences through gentle exposure, exploration, encouragement, positive reinforcement. This helps prepare the puppies with a wonderful foundational sense of confidence, before they transition home to their forever families at eight weeks old. Transitioning from mama’s milk bar, where suckling occurs, to lapping up puppy mush from a pan is an entirely new experience for young puppies.
