Austin Ridge Riders All Level Group Ride - Walnut Creek Metro Park

Austin Ridge Riders Mountain Bike Club resumed hosting group rides, and I joined them for their first ride of 2021 at Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park. There was a very strong turnout and we wound up splitting into four groups based on skill. The group I rode in was the intermediate level (level 3 of 4) and includes some familiar faces from the Pace Bend ride! There were so many good things going on here. This was my first ride at Walnut Creek on the Jeffsy and I hit these trails with a much faster pace than I am used to, yet I was way more confident over some of the steeper features and really got to appreciate trails like Outer Log Loops, Ross Springs, Powerline Flow, and Marks Art. Austin Ridge Riders also recently improved Windy Loop with some superb berms that really improve the flow. Gallico led our group again, and Brooks was showing the results of his trip to the Seguin Mountain Bike Skills Park where he spent some time with Chris Wood discussing jump technique and his support of The Irma Lewis Seguin Outdoor Learning Center. Bruce led us through Severe Consequences, and then Gage turned up the wick on Windy Loop and BMX Loop.
