Reading the flash on a cheap and nasty music player 2/2
In whch yr hmbl svt attempts to read the contents of the flash chip of a cheap-and-cheerful voice recorder module, for fun. This is practice for an AC1082-based music player toy which appears to be capable of running arbitrary code from flash, which is very unusual. This player is probably using identical hardware but different mask ROM software on the processor itself which means it doesn't have the run-from-flash functionality. Because it's therefore useless to me, and very cheap, it makes a good candidate to see how hard dismantling this things is before I work on the hardware I want to keep. I also get to try out my new Rigol oscilloscope, which I don't know how to use yet.
