In November 2025, a tragedy occurred in the La Sierra neighborhood of the San Cristóbal district in Bogotá: on a curve, a taxi driver lost control of the vehicle and ran over 11 people who were crossing the street. It was later revealed that the driver of the public service vehicle, José Eduardo Chalá, was driving with a high level of intoxication when he hit the group, which included several minors, one of whom died.
