Ratchet & Clank 2002 But It's Just When Someone Says A Name*

So I saw    • The ENTIRE Walking With franchise, but it'...   by ‪@ShadowsAndScience‬ after (genuinely) almost dying of exhaustion on Friday, immediately decided "that's funny, I want to do that with something" and the first that came to mind was "they sure say names quite a lot in the first Ratchet & Clank game", stayed up 'till like 3AM, barely hydrated and fed, to begin this edit, and Viola, a few days later because wow-wee is VSDC Free Video Editor not made for edits that involve a lot of less-than-half-a-second cuts of video files that for some gods-forsaken reason are about 15 minutes a gigabyte, here we are. I used a somewhat loose definition of "name" for this. Characters, places and weapons/gadgets were obvious. But that left the matter of the Wrench. Which is ostensibly a weapon, by means of you can smack enemies to death with it. That then left the subject of other items that aren't in any menu, like the Robotic Ignition System, or the term "Qwarktastic". Ultimately, it's a thing that's probably trademarked, and thus is a name. Much the same applies to Bolts. It's a currency, and thus has a name that people can call it. Conversely, Clank's serial designation is not a name. It's a serial designation. It's the closest he had to a name, but it's not the same. Likewise, the Lieutenant on Eudora is not a name. It's a title/job description, like Chairman or Captain. Chairman Drek and Captain Qwark, however, are names. As are species names. It's in the.. well, name. The HelpDesk dialogue is another can of worms. It's entirely possible that I've skipped one or more when first capturing the footage - especially the "you don't have this thing yet" ones - and even aside from that, the general rule became "if it's capitalized in the on-screen HelpDesk dialogue, it's a name", meaning button prompts - because they're images - aren't names. Except for the SELECT button, which is. I also very much did miss a lot of optional dialogue - the Qwarkbot comes to mind - and it's entirely possible that I missed even more when skimming through the footage and my brain for dialogue. So, there.. Comment the funniest sequence. For me, it's between the HelpDesk Girl having a stroke trying to explain what a Sonic Summoner and Metal Detector does, and the one-two punch of "Qwark, Drek, Raritanium, Sally" followed almost immediately by "Drek, Qwark, Drek, Qwark, Drek, Raritanium" The best effort of counting how many times each name is said, who says what name the most, the longest streak of one thing being said (I have a feeling that's Ratchet) and stuff like that gets pinned. That, or maybe the funniest "I've never played R&C, based on this video here's my plot summary". The first person to suggest that I do this with any other game gets the Cynder video delisted for a month. The first person to suggest that I do this to Ratchet & Clank 2016 specifically gets the Cynder video permanently lost-media'd. And we wouldn't want that to happen now would we? #ratchetandclank
