Key Summit – A Short Walk on the Routeburn Track

This side trail branches off the main Routeburn Track and leads to one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Fiordland, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The Key Summit Track is a 6.8-kilometer (4.2-mile) return hike and typically takes around 3 hours to complete. It's a relatively short but steep climb, making it an excellent choice for those who want to experience the beauty of the Routeburn area without committing to the full multi-day trek.
