Thousands Protest at Mallam Junction Over Flooding Allegations Against TotalEnergies
Thousands of residents at Mallam Junction have taken to the streets, alleging that a TotalEnergies service station was built within the main waterway and surrounded by concrete walls, obstructing the natural flow of rainwater. According to the demonstrators, whenever heavy rain falls, floodwaters hit the station’s concrete wall and overflow into nearby homes, causing widespread damage. The residents are making an urgent appeal to President John Dramani Mahama and the relevant authorities to investigate the situation and remove that Total Service Station which has been built in the main water way and construct a stronger, wider bridge similar to the one at the Tetegu Highway to help prevent future flooding.
