This inaugural video introduces the materials needed for hand quilting, which, unlike machine quilting, requires minimal preparation and can be easily started. / This is quilt artist Oh Young-sil, enjoying sewing. "I want to grow old like her." While traveling in the United States, I happened to visit a quilt shop. Seeing an elderly woman sewing with a magnifying glass set the course of my life. That's how I began sewing late in life. I fell in love with the joy of it and kept at it, so much so that when others quit their jobs, I began a new life as a quilt artist. In addition to publishing quilt-related books like "Quilt DIY for a Happy Life" and "Oh Young-sil's Quilt Story," I've also participated in solo and invitational exhibitions at the Hangaram Art Museum at the Seoul Arts Center, and even a collaborative exhibition with British children's author Anthony Browne. Every stitch of quilting is filled with memories, time, and stories from the process of creating the piece. That's why I call my work "time travel."
