Expatriates arriving at the Kapıkule Border Crossing have created a rush to enter their homeland. Officials stated that 100,543 expatriates have entered the country through the Kapıkule Border Crossing in 28,325 vehicles since June 1st. Authorities also stated that they expect nearly 1 million expatriates to enter the country before the holiday from Edirne, through the Kapıkule and Hamzabeyli border crossings with Bulgaria, and the İpsala and Pazarkule border crossings with Greece. Expatriates arriving at the border crossing are excited about both setting foot in their homeland and seeing their relatives. 'WHEN WE ARRIVE, WE FORGET ALL OUR PROBLEMS' Doğan Can, who came from Cologne, Germany, stated that they forgot all their troubles upon arriving in Türkiye, saying, "We arrived in our homeland. The roads were very crowded, and there were more coming behind us. We were in the first region, and schools were closed there, so we set off immediately. Now we're heading to Konya. When we enter this gate and see the Turkish flag, we forget all our troubles. This place is completely different. Here, we will celebrate the holiday and see our relatives." Cihan Korkmaz, who traveled from Cologne to Adıyaman, expressed his joy at returning to Türkiye after a year. He said, "Our trip was wonderful, except for the Bulgarian part. Of course, we're happy to be back in Türkiye. We're here for the holiday and to visit relatives; it'll be all in one place. I last visited last year; we always come back whenever we can. We're so happy to be back in our homeland. We work there for a year and then spend a month here to fulfill our longing. Now I'll be visiting my mother first. Our house in Adıyaman was also severely damaged in the earthquake, and I'll be taking care of it and trying to repair the damage there." "WE'RE GOING TO ENJOY OUR VACATION" Necmettin Acar, who lives in Hagen, Germany, said they're coming to Türkiye for a six-week vacation, saying, "Our vacation has begun. We hit the road, and it's been a wonderful time. We're here for six weeks, and we're going to enjoy it. Even though you're abroad, returning to your own country has a completely different feeling. First, we'll go home to Yalova, where we'll open the door. We'll get some rest and visit our family and friends. First, we'll visit relatives in Muş and then we'll go to the beach."
