In 2021, it became the first bonsai garden at a Zen temple to be open year-round, attracting much attention. In a strolling space surrounded by white sand and moss, Kyoto Kurama stone and Chinese longan stone are arranged, and approximately 30 to 40 masterpieces of bonsai are displayed on top of them. The diverse bonsai range in age from hundreds of years old to over 800 years old, including black pines, shimpaku, maples, Japanese white pines, and longevity plums. Each small pot embodies the advanced techniques of bonsai care and a refined worldview. The exhibits are changed with the seasons, so the bonsai will look different each time you visit, spring, summer, autumn or winter.
