Stock Market LIVE: The Indian stock market witnessed heavy fluctuations today in the last trading session of the month of June and this series. The market started on a strong note, with Nifty crossing 24,000 and Sensex opening above 77,000. However, the initial gains were soon wiped out and due to heavy selling pressure, Sensex fell by around 270 points, while Nifty slipped below the psychological level of 23,900. The main reason for this fall was the weakness in auto, IT and metal sector stocks, which put pressure on the market sentiment. Investors are seen to be very cautious on the day of F&O monthly expiry.
